Bitrix24 for Data Analytics: BI Builder

bi builder in bitrix24

🌟 The latest BI Builder in Bitrix24 is a tool for viewing and creating analytical reports and dashboards based on data inside your Bitrix24 CRM. Tailor reports, create and edit built-in dashboards or build your own custom data reports.
Let’s see how to create a dashboard with BI Builder, to change the existing charts and how to use the SQL Lab to look for IDs that you might be missing.

What is Bitrix24?

It’s a collaboration suite of over 35 different tools, ranging from communication tools like internal chats or voice calls to a fully functioning CRM that comes with automation rules and business processes. Bitrix24 is an ever-growing software with over 12 million customers worldwide.

To open BI Builder in Bitrix24 go to CRM > BI Builder > My dashboards. On this page, you will see a list of all built-in and custom dashboards. There are two ways to create a report:

Start from a built-in dashboard

Choose the desirable Select a dashboard and click Edit under the Actions column of All dashboard tab. Bitrix24 will create a copy that can be customized in a variety of ways. Let’s say we want to change all the layout of existing dashboard. To do that click ‘Edit,’ and it’s going to send us into the dashboard editor. From here, there are a couple of things that can be achieved:

1. Open the SQL Lab: Here you can create SQL queries, or if you want, you can just look at the ID of the field that you would like to take into consideration or to pull up into a report.

2. The other way is to just go to “Charts” tab and click “Add Chart”. Inside you’re going to have an array of different charts that really will suit the kind of data that you want to pull up. Select a dataset from Bitrix24, decide how to present the data, and click Create new chart. We can change the name of the chart before saving it and also select the dashboard where you want to add it. After you save the changes, close BI Builder, go back to Bitrix24 and reopen the report. When configuring the chart, use the Query Mode parameter to determine how to process your data. There are two query modes:

Aggregate: This mode is suitable when you need to understand general trends or compare the data from different groups using a bar or pie chart.

Raw records: This mode is suitable for detailed analysis where you need to view information on each deal or entity.

Add new chart to existing dashboard

Open the dashboard you want to edit, choose “Layout Elements”, and in here, we can add more elements to our dashboard. So, for example, let’s add a row. After you’ll just drop the created chart inside the row.
